The University of Geneva is the public university of the Geneva Canton in Switzerland. It was founded by John Calvin in 1559. Today, the university is secular and has teaching and research programs in every field. It is affiliated to the LERU (League of European Research Universities) and Coimbra group. The university pursues three missions: teaching, research, and service to the community. Teaching spans from bachelor to doctorate, as well as continuous education.
