Introduction

Pantheon-Sorbonne University is a descendant of both the Sorbonne and the Pantheon Faculty of law and economics. Nearly 40,000 students are enrolled in its fourteen teaching and research departements and four institutes, which together offer a full range of courses at the highest level from law and political science to economics, management and the humanities and social science. The hub of a strong network of international relationships covering all five continents, Pantheon-Sorbonne University plays a major role in the training of researchers, teachers, judges, lawyers and senior business and public sector managers. Pantheon-Sorbonne University possesses one of the largest and most complete university librairies in France. The jewel of its crown is the very beautiful and emblematic Sorbonne Library in the heart of the old Sorbonne buildings. The Cujas Library is the leading European resource centre for French and francophone law. The research policy of Pantheon-Sorbonne University has resulted in dynamic scientific departments distinguished by their performance and innovation. There are 41 research centres, of which 22 are mixed research centres with the National Centre for Scientific Research and 20 are host teams.
