Introduction

IMT Atlantique is a French Elite Graduate Engineering School. It is one of the components of the IMT Institute, under the authority of Minister of Industry and Electronic Communications. It was created in January 2017 by merging of Télécom Bretagne and Mines Nantes. Its ambition is to combine digital, environment and energy to shape the society and the industry. With 500 permanent staff (half of them academic staff), IMT Atlantique trains around 2000 students (including 1400 engineers and about 300 PhD students). It delivers 750 diplomas each year, produce 850 papers a year and generates € 23 million in research contracts. IMT Atlantique is committed to its role as a Technological University, with a solid scientific and technological base to its courses, but also with an emphasis on social sciences, a strong relationship with companies, and an openness to its academic partners. It is also part of a global ecosystem and has positioned itself as a Technological University on the international scene, dedicated to being exemplary in terms of sustainable development and social responsibility. IMT Atlantique offers its students a wide range of courses and career paths. The wide range of scientific themes supported by its internationally recognized research laboratories is reflected in its engineering programs, apprenticeship programs, Master's and Specialized Master's programs, and the SPIN PhD program (Engineering and Digital Sciences). With a team of 250 passionate teaching and research staff, IMT Atlantique prepares students for the major digital and energy transformations of the 21st century. The special relationship between IMT Atlantique and companies of all sizes allows its students to experience relevant and original problems and develop key skills which will equip them for responding to a wide range of professional situations in an uncertain and changing world.
