Comenius University is the oldest and biggest university in Slovakia. Univerzity was founded in 1919. At present CU consists of 13 faculties covering wide range of disciplines from medicine and natural science to theology. CU has altogether nearly 28 000 students. CU promote nearly 8000 graduates a year i.e. there is more than 220 000 graduates in its history. CU belongs to the top research institutes in the country, internationaly recognised and for example registered in Thompson ESI database as one of three institutes from Slovakia. It is non/campus university spreaded over Bratislava, with Jessenius faculty of Medicine located 200 km away in the middle of Slovakia.
