Introduction

Established in 1854 by John Henry Newman, UCD is ranked among Europe’s leading research-intensive universities. UCD has played an unparalleled role in the development of modern Ireland, and since 1922 has produced three presidents of Ireland, four prime ministers and six European Commissioners.
