Applied Science Private University (ASU) stands as one of the most prestigious private universities in Jordan, recognized for its pioneering role in shaping higher education in the region. Established in 1989 and welcoming its first students in 1991, ASU has built a legacy of academic excellence, innovation, and leadership that continues to thrive more than three decades later. Nestled on a scenic 80-acre campus in Shafa Badran, at the heart of Amman, the vibrant capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, ASU offers an inspiring environment where knowledge, creativity, and ambition meet. The university operates under the umbrella of the Arab International Company for Education and Investment, and is proud of its rich cultural diversity, hosting a dynamic community of international students and distinguished faculty from across the globe. ASU is renowned for its commitment to quality education, research excellence, and community impact. It encompasses 12 faculties and a Technical College, including: Pharmacy, Dentistry, Allied Medical Sciences, Nursing, Engineering and Technology, Information Technology, Science, Arts and Humanities, Business, Art and Design, Law, and Sharia and Islamic Studies. Together, these faculties offer 59 distinguished academic programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and higher diploma levels—many of which hold international accreditations from globally recognized bodies such as ABET (Engineering and Computing), ACPE (Pharmacy), and ACEN (Nursing). These accreditations reflect ASU’s dedication to aligning its programs with world-class standards and preparing graduates for success in the global marketplace. In recent years, ASU has earned remarkable recognition in international rankings. In 2025, the university advanced in the QS World University Rankings 2026, securing a position within the top 800 universities worldwide (ranked 791–800) and ranking 37th among Arab universities in the QS Arab University Rankings. ASU also achieved Five Stars in Online Learning (QS Stars 2023) and became the first university in the Middle East—and only the 21st globally—to receive the elite “Five Stars Plus” rating. Further underscoring its research strength, ASU topped all Jordanian universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024, ranking in the 501–600 band globally. The university continued its upward trajectory in 2025, joining the top 500 universities in the world (ranked 401–500) according to THE WUR. At ASU, excellence is not just a goal—it’s a culture. Through innovation, inclusivity, and a steadfast dedication to advancing knowledge, ASU empowers the leaders of tomorrow to make a meaningful impact—locally, regionally, and globally.
