Introduction

University of Bergen (UiB) is situated on the Western Coast of Norway. Bergen is a 280,000 people city; UiB having 17,500 students approx 2,000 international students and 4,000 staff (2018). UiB is partly situated in downtown Bergen on "the university hill", and partly 4 km outside. UiB has six faculties, with strong fields in marine science, climate research and social sciences. UiB offers some 80 programmes for undergraduates and about 100 Master's, professional and PhD programmes, several taught in English.
