HKBU places dual emphasis on teaching and research. To promote the necessary link between top-level cutting-edge research and teaching, the University established the Institute of Creativity in 2011. Led by renowned scholars including Nobel Laureates, the Institute is a high-power think tank focusing on interdisciplinary and theme-based research. It spearheads both fundamental and applied research relevant to the region’s socio-economic development that addresses societal concerns. The University’s faculties provide consultancy and professional services to the Government, the business sector and industry, and strive to make practical use of their research results and findings to benefit society.
