AUEB is the leading University in Greece in the areas of Economics and Business Administration, and one of the most distinguished academic institutions of its field in Europe. Established more than 85 years ago, AUEB has always been on the forefront of education and research. Our University has produced by far the largest number of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, civil servants, and managers, as well as faculty members and researchers in its fields, and has thus played a key role in the development of the country. Nowadays, it continues attracting the best pool of candidates in both its undergraduate and graduate programs, and thus achieves an exceptionally high potential of students. Enjoying the best reputation in the country, and having developed a strong research orientation, AUEB attracts faculty who have previously been on the faculties of some of the best schools internationally, like Wharton, Columbia, London School of Economics, Cambridge, INSEAD, London Business School, Fuqua, and others. We are proud to have faculty who have received international academic achievement awards, are publishing in the best international journals, serve as heads of international associations, have served as, top policy makers or are advisors to private or public leaders. With 8 undergraduate programs, 28 graduate (Master's) programs, a strong Doctoral program, 25 research laboratories, a world-recognized faculty and an excellent pool of students, AUEB offers an excellent environment to learn and do research. At the same time, the University offers many opportunities for cultural or athletic activities, as well as participation in student unions or student organizations. AUEB's students are not limited to only undergraduate and graduate students. Our community includes thousands of participants in our executive programs that are offered at AUEB's Executive Training Center, plus many participants in customized programs that we offer to an increasing number of Greek or international companies. In addition, AUEB's alumni constitute an important component of the AUEB family. Our exchange program is also particularly strong. Through the Erasmus program, every year about 220 AUEB undergraduate students leave our campus to spend a semester or a year to a University in another European country, while 270 students from international Universities come to spend an equivalent time at AUEB, thus rendering AUEB the "most per-capita-intensive" exchange program in Greece. Exchange programs are also quite active at the graduate level. Just the MBA International program, internationally accredited by AMBA and attracting students from more than 25 countries, has established exchange programs with about 15 academic institutions in 4 continents. Finally, the University enjoys excellent relations with industry. Our scholarship program, through industry grants, is significant, and our students' "time-to-market" after they graduate is usually very small.
